Building a Legacy | A Perspective on the Life of Kobe Bryant

I waited a few days before I made the decision to write this blog post knowing there are so many opinions on the life of Kobe Bryant. However you feel about Kobe, undeniably, he had an impact on the game of basketball and the world. He was not the only tragic loss that day, several legacies were cut short including: Gianna Bryant (daughter of Kobe Bryant), John and Keri Altobelli and their daughter Alyssa, Sarah Chester and her daughter Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Ara Zobayan.

The lesson that I took from this tragedy was how our lives can be turned upside down in an instant. The number of lives these individuals touched is unimaginable. Legacies in the process of being built brought to a sudden halt. Not knowing when your number is to be called, have you asked yourself what legacy are you working to build?

Obviously Kobe had a big platform, yet I don't want you to necessarily think in terms of...

Create Your Disney | Build It for Them

Jan 22, 2020

"You don't build it for yourself. You know what people want, and you build it for them." - Walt Disney

I see business owners struggle with the concept that Walt presents in building what people want...build it for them. I believe the struggle is real because our ego can easily get in the way as a business owner. The idea that sometimes we know better. In some cases that may be the true, yet if this was your approach to business 100 percent of the time, I believe as a business owner, you will struggle.

When was the last time you asked how does your business address what the customer wants? Shift your paradigm to focus on addressing a specific need. If your business solves that problem, people will buy your service or product. Do this well, and they keep coming back, or they will send referrals. Build your business to meet them right at their specific need.

Having a customer service based business, I believe and through experience, is when your business is built for them. I...

Coach Jeremy Williams Invited to the Eagles Nest in Magnolia Texas | eXp Realty Training Event

I look forward to meeting with agents affiliated with eXp Realty on Friday at the Eagles Nest in Magnolia, Texas from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm to share my newest class Enhancing Productivity While Getting Your Life Back. I would like to thank Rick Raanes of the Texas RockStar Group for inviting me to provide this training to the agents of eXp Realty.

I believe creating and working your schedule with these strategies are a game changer for real estate agents. Since coaching up agents since 2010, I believe the most challenging aspect of building a successful business, outside of lead generation, is creating and following a schedule.

This training was born out of over 10,000 hours of coaching conversations with a common thread of the desire to have a successful business and living out a great life. Do you feel like your running a business at the expense of your personal relationships? Are you getting the same results in your...

All Waves Will Break and What You Do Next Matters

Jan 18, 2020

Are you choosing to get back up on the wave, or are you settling with lying on the beach?

Being a small business owner, like a surfer, the idea is to catch and ride the wave. Sometimes the ride can be longer than others, and ultimately that wave will break. A couple of things can impact the breaking of a wave. First it could be the wave runs out of energy. The second is something causes the wave to break like an underwater reef or the shoreline. The wave will break.

In a small business, things can seem like they are on fire, and everything is hitting on all cylinders, and at some point like a wave, your business will experience a crash or setback. What you do following the "crashed wave" will determine what happens next. Here are the two options.

  1. You choose to lie on the on the beach. Lying on the beach indicates you are ready to give up, or your choosing to live in the past experience of success....

Don't Let Time Slip By Unaccounted for in Your Business

Jan 16, 2020

January 16th, 2020
Written By: Coach Jeremy Williams

Today is January 16th. Nothing special about this day other than the fact it is National Nothing Day. What today does represent is that there are only 350 days left this year? (This is a leap year so there are 366 days.)

How are you tracking on your goal? If you're not checking in on a regular basis, before you know it, time passes. Time moves a lot faster than we think. It is the only thing that happens consistently, and you can't get back. In fact, as you read this time is passing.

Don't let time slip by unaccounted for in your business. If you're not tracking on goal, get into action. At this time of year, it is easier to catch up with your goal because there is still time. The longer you wait to get on track, the more difficult it will be to make up lost ground.

Making a decision today to get into action will make the next 350 days fruitful. Choose not to get into action, rot like an apple. It is really that...

The Poison Apples in Business Are Excuses

Jan 15, 2020

January 15th, 2020
Written By: Coach Jeremy Williams

What do I see more often than not prevent a business owner from growing to the next level? The answer is excuses. We can be our own worst enemy in the progress to achieving massive success.

Definition of Excuse: attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense), seek to defend or justify

I know over the years I've dealt with making excuses in my personal and professional life (exactly why as a coach, I have a coach to keep me accountable). I believe excuses get easier to make as we are approach an area that makes us feel uncomfortable. Excuses can serve as a defense mechanism to avoid the pain of stretching our being to accomplish BIG goals, or to keep that small voice from getting louder in our head telling us we will not succeed; a preconceived notion that failure is looming on the horizon (It's almost like we've pre-written the story that attempting "x" won't result in "y", and the excuse protects us from...

Coach Jeremy's Pet Peeves

Jan 14, 2020

I was asked yesterday, "Jeremy what is your biggest pet peeve as a coach?" I've never been asked that question in my now 10 years of coaching up real estate agents, I had to pause for a moment.

The first thing that came to mind was having a coaching appointment, or a prospective business strategy call scheduled, and someone not showing up. While that can get under my skin, as I thought about it more, this would be my #2. My #1 is knowing that people need my help, and having several conversations with people that need help, and because of one of the following (pride, ego, or not understanding the power of coaching), they choose to keep doing the same thing over and over netting the same results. BTW - this is the definition of insanity.

I am inviting you to connect with me if you're in that place where you feel like you haven't had the breakthrough, or you have that feeling like you're...

3 Principles Learned from the Unprecedented Loss of the Houston Texans | Real Estate Coach Jeremy Williams

Jan 13, 2020
January 13th, 2020

Staying with the Houston Texans theme (Read Somebody Had to be Great Why Not Me), my thoughts today seem only appropriate with the outcome yesterday. BTW - Great season to all the players this season. Win or lose, I am a fan.

Wiith a 24 point lead against the favored Kansas City Chiefs, there was still 40 minutes of game to play, and it quickly became the Patrick Mahomes show. What I found interesting was during that Texans lead, the cameras would go to sideline shots of the KC players, and Mahomes was rallying the troops. It seemed at one point he might of said, "We got this." KC would go on to outscore the Texans 51 - 31 to advance to the AFC Game securing home field advantage.

What is the life and business lessons learned here?

  1. Kansas City was favored to win. When you are favored to win, when you've been seen as successful in your achievements in business and life, the magnifying glass is directly...
