I am honored and excited to announce that Craig Covey, owner of Covey Insurance made the decision to hire me as his business coach. We've already had a couple of great conversations leading up to his decision, and I can't wait for our future conversations together. Craig shared with me several stories where he was able to have a big impact with his clients. I could feel the passion in his voice about how important it is for him to be there for his clients. Next Tuesday, the journey begins.
My name is Craig Covey and I have been an insurance agent since 2005. I was drawn to insurance by my want to help people. The options I had to help people were good ones, but this one I chose because I felt that I could help the most. I knew that I found what I love to do as we went through Hurricane Ike and then again last year with Hurricane Harvey.
I am about to celebrate 20 years of marriage with my wife and we have 2 great kids, Nick who is off to college...
18 days ago, I kicked off a challenge to business owners inside and outside my coaching organization to produce and post one video a day in the month of September. When I awoke this morning, over a cup of steaming, hot coffee, I was thinking about what topic would I cover today. My question was soon answered. Bouncing down the stairs was my 10 year old son, Logan, asking, "Daddy, are we going to flood?" Tropical Storm Imelda had made landfall around Freeport, Texas yesterday. For something that was forecasted to be a rain event within a one hour time period became a tropical storm, and then Tropical Storm Imelda. Not a dangerous wind event, the chances of flooding rain increased greatly. Why did my son ask that question? We have to go back a little over two years ago when Kingwood, Texas (my hometown) was devastated by the remnants of Hurricane Harvey.
Hurricane Harvey landed on the Texas Gulf Coast as a Cat 4 on August 25th, 2017. The storm tracked towards San Antonio, and then...
My family and I made the hour and a half journey from Kingwood, Texas to College Station on September 14th, 2019 to watch the Lamar Cardinals vs Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field. The final score was Aggies 62 and Lamar 3. The reason I post about my trip to the game on my business blog is that as a business owner, you need to make sure you're time blocking for time to be spent with friends, family, and for the pursuit of your passion and hobbies. Having a great business should not be at the expense of living a great life.
Slow down, time block, and enjoy the life you've been given. The benefits of slowing down to smell the roses is abundant. You clear your mind, your thoughts favor the creative, you rest your body, and much more. Don't try to find the time as time is elusive and finite. Schedule the time, and then honor the time you've been scheduled just as you would for your business.
Enjoy some videos and photos from our experience watching our Aggies #BTHOLamar
As a Business Coach, and in previous leadership and sales positions over the years, I've had the opportunity to use several different types of SaaS products (software as a service) to assist in running my roles and current business with the upmost efficiencies and customization. I am not afraid to say the G Suite is the best product on the market right now for your business. The power of G Suite is found in the apps including: GMAIL, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Chat, Meet, Google+, Sites, Contacts, Groups, YouTube, Maps, News, Google Ads, Photos, Translate, Vault, Cloud Search, Admin, Hangouts, Forms, Keep, Jamboard, Earth, and Collections. This blog post will dive deeper into some of the powerful tools offered by G Suite.
In this post, I will share with you why I use Google Suite, and why I encourage all my clients to use it. I will also compare and contrast it with other SaaS products on the market...
I would like to welcome Katrinia L. I am in gratitude, and I look forward to our coaching conversations in the days and weeks to come.

How many times have you heard that your perception is your reality? I believe their is truth in this though there is a caveat. The caveat is not to allow your personal assumptions to creep into the decision making process based on your initial perception.
An example would be a business owner not giving someone the time of day because of their physical appearance, or the way they dress, or the car they pull up in. Coming to the conclusion that they can't afford their product because of the assumptions made based on perception may cost them a sale (sometimes a BIG sale). This is also something that can happen in hiring talent, and it happens in all aspects of life and business.
The equation always taught is perception = reality.
The equation I believe to be more on point is perception - assumptions = reality.
