The 4th of July represents so many things including time to spend with family and friends, BBQ, fireworks, and most importantly those that gave the ultimate sacrifice providing us the ability to experience freedom. One of the most important things I have my coaching clients understand about their businesses is knowing their numbers. The numbers can tell the story and identify the health of a business whether climbing the mountain or falling off the cliff. Knowing your numbers gives you the information to pivot, make incremental adjustments, or provides the blue print to scale. In sales specifically, knowing the conversion rate between key numbers provides the information to now make the business predictable. Ex. It takes me 10 leads to secure 5 new customers; a 50% conversion rate. Now if I want 40 new customers, I will need 80 leads.

Seeking Counterbalance in Work and Life

As a business coach, I often have conversations with my coaching clients about seeking counterbalance with work and life. Finding a balance with work and life is a lie many have been told over the years. For those that seek "work-life balance", it is chasing the unicorn, seeking the pot of gold, or finding that leprechauns are real. The attempt to be balanced in work and life adds unnecessary stress because no one can obtain it. You can not give both equal attention at any one time; it's impossible. Counterbalance is what is realistic. Sometimes you will be more in your work world than personal world, and sometimes you will be more in your personal world than work world. It is okay to be in the extremes as long as you are aware, and that you swing the pendulum from time to time. When you are giving attention to your personal world, stay there and be present.
