Don't Let Time Slip By Unaccounted for in Your Business

Today is January 16th. Nothing special about this day other than the fact it is National Nothing Day. What today does represent is that there are only 350 days left this year? (This is a leap year so there are 366 days.)

How are you tracking on your goal? If you're not checking in on a regular basis, before you know it, time passes. Time moves a lot faster than we think. It is the only thing that happens consistently, and you can't get back. In fact, as you read this time is passing.

Don't let time slip by unaccounted for in your business. If you're not tracking on goal, get into action. At this time of year, it is easier to catch up with your goal because there is still time. The longer you wait to get on track, the more difficult it will be to make up lost ground.

Making a decision today to get into action will make the next 350 days fruitful. Choose not to get into action, rot like an apple. It is really that...

The Poison Apples in Business Are Excuses

January 15th, 2020

What do I see more often than not prevent a business owner from growing to the next level? The answer is excuses. We can be our own worst enemy in the progress to achieving massive success.

Definition of Excuse: attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense), seek to defend or justify

I know over the years I've dealt with making excuses in my personal and professional life (exactly why as a coach, I have a coach to keep me accountable). The first thing that came to mind was having a coaching appointment, or a prospective business strategy call scheduled, and someone not showing up. While that can get under my skin, as I thought about it more, this would be my #2. My #1 is knowing that people need my help, and having several conversations with people that need help, and because of one of the following (pride, ego, or not understanding the power of coaching), they choose to keep doing the same thing over and over netting the same results. BTW - this is the definition of insanity.

I am inviting you to connect with me if you're in that place where you feel like you haven't had the breakthrough, or you have that feeling like you're...

Staying with the Houston Texans theme (Read Somebody Had to be Great Why Not Me), my thoughts today seem only appropriate with the outcome yesterday. BTW - Great season to all the players this season. Win or lose, I am a fan.

Wiith a 24 point lead against the favored Kansas City Chiefs, there was still 40 minutes of game to play, and it quickly became the Patrick Mahomes show. What I found interesting was during that Texans lead, the cameras would go to sideline shots of the KC players, and Mahomes was rallying the troops. It seemed at one point he might of said, "We got this." KC would go on to outscore the Texans 51 - 31 to advance to the AFC Game securing home field advantage.

What is the life and business lessons learned here?

  1. Kansas City was favored to win. When you are favored to win, when you've been seen as successful in your achievements in business and life, the magnifying glass is directly...
