Starting and Stopping are Equally Important

One of the biggest challenges I see as a coach is business owners knowing when to start and stop.

Coming off a July 4th weekend, any holiday weekend, or vacation, the question you must ask yourself is: What is one business activity that can generate opportunities to put me back into the flow of work?

Take a few days off, and the rust begins to build. The habits you've worked to build may take a hit. Yes, I've had those days too where I say, "I'll just take off one more day." It's like saying, "I will have another piece of chocolate cake today and then start my workout tomorrow." You've got to find what works for you to put you into the flow of work. Remember what you choose today is what shows up in your life 30, 60, and 90 days out.

On the other side of the conversation, no when to stop. I talk with a lot of people that will put work before a vacation or time spent with loved ones. Just as important as starting is knowing when to stop. Give yourself some breathing room and experience life.

I share this to get you to a point of awareness. Are you starting? Are you stopping? Both are equally important.

Fireworks, BBQ, beer, music, etc. over the last few days, now how do you start this week?
