Hearing "No" Sucks Now Change Your Mindset

Working in the sales industry takes a special person. It takes guts. It takes fortitude. Those that say sales is cake, seek advice from someone else. Run. Sales takes work.

One of the toughest hurdles to cross when it comes to mindset is the word "No". There is a finalization to the meaning of the word "No" that can leave you dazed because you thought everything was going well. (You might even look like a deer in the headlights.) "No" is ingrained in our being starting from being a toddler. "No" to this..."No" to that..."No" has the capability of derailing you in the pursuit of your goals.

Here is something today that will encourage you. In the world of sales, "No" can either mean not right now, or it could be there is an uncovered objection you've yet to address. Don't give up when you get a "No", find out if it might means "Maybe Later", or if you can, discover and resolve the objection.

Having this mindset, and also not being attached to the outcome whether a "Yes" or "No", will keep you moving forward. Getting emotionally tied to a "Yes" or "No" can get messy. One of my favorite words shared with my coaching clients is "NEXT". It is critical as a sales person to have this mentality because the other extreme is stagnation and a victim mentality.

Don't let "No" halt you in your tracks as a business person. Keep pushing forward. Keep thinking "Maybe Later" or "NEXT". Opportunities are all around you, and you just need to get into action to access them.

Make it a great and productive day. Be Blessed in all you do.
