Dallas, Texas is the largest city located in Dallas County and extends into surrounding counties including: Collin, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall. Dallas is the 9th largest city in the United States according to the 2020 census, and it is part of the massive Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. 

Dallas was developed as a result of major railroad lines that early on focused on the transport of cattle and cotton. Four major highways intersect Dallas establishing the conditions to lead to a strong industrial and financial center. Dallas features two airports including Dallas Love Field (a major hub for Southwest Airlines) and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. With a rich history that starts with the original habitation of the Caddo Indians, later Spanish colonists when Texas was considered part of the Viceroyalty of New Spain in the 18th century, and finally, in 1839 when John Neely Bryan planted a stake near three forks of the Trinity River only for Dallas to officially be founded in 1841, Dallas, Texas is now home to over 1.3 million people.
