Somebody Had to be Great, Why Not Me? | Deshaun Watson Houston Texans

In light of the Houston Texans win against the Buffalo Bills, and the big game today against Kansas City Chiefs, this quote jumped out to me last week in his post game interview.

"Somebody has to be great, why not me?" - Deshaun Watson (The Houston Houdini)

Over the years, I've seen so many point to others when they don't perform to their capabilities. You've probably too heard the following (hopefully not living this...):

"It's their fault for me not living out my potential."

"It's a bad market, and everyone else is not doing so hot."

"This would have been successful on my account, and this person screwed it up."

I could list out more, and I know you get the idea. Lord knows, I've had periods in my life where that was my attitude. Here in lies what is so refreshing about Deshaun's comment. He chose to take it upon himself, as the leader of the team, despite the circumstances, to lead his team to victory. He chose to be great...
