Stop Making Tech and Automation the Front of Your Business

Building Relationships Real Estate Agents Red Hawk Coaching Real Estate Coach Jeremy Williams

I shared on the radio interview yesterday what I thought was going to separate out real estate agents from the herd going forward. I truly believe the industry has done a disservice over the years of teaching agents how to automate everything to "do more". I remember when automation and scaling businesses became a part of industry conversations, and it created reluctance and pushback from agents keeping it "old school".

I love tech, and I love to use it for what I believe it was originally intended to do, and that is to create "leverage" for those unseen/experienced activities when someone engages with your business. What I see now is a lot of real estate agents where the tech is pushed to the front. Engagement between agent and client becomes less.

Now for those in this group, you know I am the salmon that swims upstream, yet I think there is something in this world, especially in our times, where people are craving to do business with people. They don't want to be bombarded by all these things that might make the transaction "easier" (in fact sometimes the tech creates more confusion). Does building a business relationship by relationship take a little grind, yes, and I believe it can't be taken away.

I was talking with a top agent yesterday about this very topic, and she pointed out an agent we both know that is highly successful in our area. She is not on social media all the time, I know her business has very little to no automation, yet, year after year, she is one of the top agents in all of Houston. People love this agent. She kills it with repeat business and referrals. This agent has built and continues to build relationships.

Am I saying stop all your automation, no, yet I am asking you to take a look at the strength of your relationships with current and past clients. How can you invest more there to build something that can never be taken away.
