Today, I got my first set of glasses. Though the lenses might need a bit of adjustment, I can already see the world in a whole new light. I can read street signs from afar and the tiny lettering on food labels is now crystal clear. It turns out fighting the effects of aging is impossible, and my refusal to accept this reality meant missing out on the details around me. After some gentle nudging from my loved one, I finally gave in and faced this new reality. My only regret is not doing it sooner—my perspective has shifted dramatically in just one day.
